From Scraps to Patchwork

On the 27th of June, a workshop invited participants to ‘Celebrate the Art of Transforming Scrap Fabric into Beautiful and Meaningful Creations’.

Attendees embarked on a creative journey, discovering the potential hidden in leftover fabrics. The workshop focused on three key techniques: appliqué, piecing, and scrap combining. These methods allowed participants to breathe new life into what would otherwise be discarded material.

Using sewing machines, attendees crafted pieces of art that reflected both their individual creativity and a collective appreciation for sustainability. The process was as much about the joy of making as it was about the art itself. Participants learned to see scraps not as waste, but as opportunities to create something new and beautiful. The workshop was not only a lesson in technique but also a celebration of resourcefulness, demonstrating how the act of repurposing can lead to meaningful and aesthetically pleasing results. Through the combination of these techniques, attendees left with a renewed sense of the possibilities that lie within every piece of fabric, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant.
