Principal and CEO Dr Andrew Gower to leave Morley in April 2025

Dr Andrew Gower – who has led Morley College London as its Principal and Chief Executive since 2015 – will take up the role of Vice-Chancellor and CEO of Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln from Spring 2025.

Of his tenure at Morley, Dr Gower said: “It is a privilege to have had the opportunity to lead the college, and I am hugely grateful to Morley’s partners and friends for their unwavering support. It is satisfying to reflect on all that has been achieved, from the introduction of new courses, including higher education, to the significant and expansive merger of 2020, to the major renovation of the college’s estate in recent years.

“Morley remains true to its founding social mission – serving the diverse needs of Londoners through lifelong learning – and I am honoured to be part of the College’s history since taking up the role of Principal and Chief Executive ten years ago.”

Chair of Morley’s Governing Body Leisha Fullick said: “Andrew’s vision, dedication, and hard work have made a huge impact on Morley College London over the past ten years. Under his leadership, we have achieved goals that have taken Morley to a new level. His commitment to our mission and vision have been an inspiration and have set a high standard for us all. On behalf of the Governing Body, I want to express our heartfelt thanks to Andrew and wish him all the best in his next role.”

In the coming weeks, Morley College London will launch the process of appointment for the next Principal and CEO, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership and in preparation for the next strategic planning period from 2026 onwards.
