Canada Delegation Visit to Morley College

On September 5 2024, Morley College London welcomed a delegation from Canada to its Stockwell and Waterloo Centres to share Morley College’s sustainability projects and discuss how further educational institutions can succeed in integrating sustainability into education. The visitors, including Judi Varga-Toth, Manager of the Climate Initiative at Colleges and Institutes Canada, and Michael Anderson, a professor from Algonquin College, Ottawa, were interested in understanding the efforts of the UK’s further educational establishments.

The visit began at the Stockwell Centre with a presentation on the Green Hub project, followed by a tour highlighting the garden and future renovation plans. It continued at the Waterloo Centre, where Bushra Iqbal, Vice Principal (Curriculum Impact) and Centre Principal, introduced the guests to the college’s sustainability initiatives. She highlighted key projects such as the Green Hub, Sustainability Champions, Carbon Literacy Training, and Sustainable Exhibitions, emphasising the college’s commitment to integrating sustainability into its curriculum and practices.

The event provided valuable opportunities for both sides to share insights and explore potential collaborations on sustainable education practices. The delegation’s visit underscored the importance of global partnerships in advancing sustainability in further education.
